South Cheshire Advanced Motorcyclists FAQ's

Q1. Do you provide a motorcycle for the course?

No, we do not provide a motorcycle or any other equipment. You will need to use a
bike that is roadworthy and which you are legally entitled to ride throughout your training
and for the test.

Q2. I have points on my licence, can I still become an advanced rider?

Yes, providing you hold a current, full (class A ) licence, you can train with us.

Q3. Do I need to wear motorcycling clothing?

Yes, we promote a safe approach to riding which means wearing appropriate clothing.

Q4. I wear glasses, will this prevent me from doing the course?

No, as long as you pass the legal eyesight requirements for driving/riding you will be
OK.

Q5. What if I fail the test?

Unfortunately  not everyone passes first time. We would chat with you to see why you didn’t pass the test and then put into place any further training or practice if required.

Once you feel confident to re-take your test, you contact IAM roadsmart and they will ask the examiner to contact you and agree with you, a date for your new test.

For any other queries please use our contact page and email a committee member.
