Advanced Rider Training

South Cheshire Advanced Motorcyclists is an official provider of the IAM RoadSmart Advanced Rider course. We offer the course to a wide range of riders from those who have recently obtained a full licence to born-again bikers and experienced riders who wish to brush-up on their riding skills.

The course is designed to provide knowledge and skills to make your riding experience safer and more enjoyable with improved positioning, observation skills and bike control. For the course you’ll be paired with one of our highly-skilled and qualified Observers who are all volunteers.

Over a series of observed rides you will develop your core riding skills up to an advanced level. The course is based on the ”IPSGA” framework of Information, Position, Speed, Gear, Acceleration, which is applied to all aspects of motorcycling. Your course will typically comprise 6 to 12 observed sessions. When you’re ready, your Observer will put you forward for your Advanced Test with an IAM RoadSmart examiner. Upon completion, you’ll gain ‘Advanced Rider’ and ‘IAM RoadSmart Member’ status.

Our training is delivered on a one-to-one basis on dates to suit the individual. We can offer training on weekdays or at weekends, throughout the local area.
